Hi! I’m Maggie, the creative behind JAMASOBA. The name JAMASOBA means a lot to me. The JA stands for Jack, my husband. MA stands for me, Maggie. SO stands for Sophia, my oldest daughter and BA stands for Bailey, my youngest daughter.
JAMASOBA jewelry brand isn’t made for everyone. It is for someone who is confident in their self and is not afraid to stand out. It is for someone who knows who they are and not afraid to turn some heads with their jewelry. It is mostly one-of-a-kind designs (OOAK) and some small batch designs. All pieces are designed and made by me and my design style is eclectic.
The methodology behind the JAMASOBA logo derived from a quote by Monique Duval. “She decided to free herself, dance into the wind, create a new language. And birds fluttered around her, writing “yes” in the sky.” Freedom to be one’s self is a powerful thing. The bravery to stand out from the crowd is something that can be expressed through your outward appearance. The mark expresses the freedom of individuality and the unique qualities that make you, you. The icon is that of bird wings fluttering in flight as it lifts off to navigate through the world.
I truly believe in supporting other artists, so I love incorporating artisan components in my creations, especially ceramic beads. I love mixing different textures, colors and metals and describe my jewelry as rustic feminine. Recycled glass, brass, ceramic, gemstones, and wood are some of the materials I like to use. Nature is a big inspiration for me so you will occasionally see birds, butterflies, bees and flowers in my designs.
Thanks for stopping by!
